ASTRAEUS DOCUMENTATION

From first connection
to verified work.

Connection details, accounting and answers for Bitcoin SHA-256 miners.

Getting started

Choose the correct chain, compatible miner and a payout address you control. Choose how to mine →

Direct Stratum setup

On Start Mining, copy the live Stratum URL. Use YOUR_PAYOUT_ADDRESS.worker as the username and x as the password. Confirm accepted shares on your miner.

Payout addresses

Your address is your canonical identity for work, rewards, Founder records and badges. With your own Gateway, choose one payout address for all miners or pass individual full usernames. A payout address from another network cannot be substituted.

DATUM setup Run your own node
  1. 01

    Configure Astraeus

Copy the host, port and public key into Config → DATUM Pool.

  2. 02

    Choose a payout preset

Use one Gateway payout address for your own miners, or pass each miner’s full payout username. Apply the matching settings below.

  3. 03

    Restart and verify

Save, restart and confirm accepted shares under the expected payout address in My Stats.

Choose how your Gateway handles miners

Choose a preset. The connection config above updates to include these DATUM options; set your wallet address separately in Config → Mining → Pool Address.

Payout preset

Set your Gateway’s Pool Address to your Bitcoin SHA-256 wallet address. Full usernames are disabled; worker names are enabled. Each miner can use a unique worker name.

Both presets use pooled_mining_only: true: if Astraeus is unreachable, miners disconnect and can try a backup pool configured in their firmware. Disable Always Pay Self in the Gateway’s mining settings when pooling.

Advanced option reference

pool_pass_workers: Set to true to send worker names to the pool so you can distinguish individual miners. Give each miner a unique worker name. This setting applies when pool_pass_full_users is false.

pool_pass_full_users: Set to false to use your Gateway’s payout address for all connected miners. You do not need to enter a payout address on each miner. This improves privacy when renting hash power because you can keep your payout address off the rented miners. Set to true to pass full miner usernames to the pool, allowing miners to use their own payout addresses.

pooled_mining_only: Set to false to fall back to solo mining on your own node if the pool cannot be reached. Set to true to disconnect miners instead, allowing them to switch to a backup pool if one is configured in the miner.

Choose your payout address

Astraeus is accountless. Set your own Bitcoin SHA-256 address as Pool Address in your Gateway. This is the Gateway’s default payout address. With pool_pass_full_users set to false, all connected miners contribute under this address. With it set to true, miners can supply their own payout addresses.

01

Choose your payout address

In your DATUM Gateway, open Config → Mining. Set Pool Address to the Bitcoin SHA-256 address that should receive your share of a block.

Pool Address is a wallet address for receiving mining rewards. Enter the coordinator’s hostname separately under Config → DATUM Pool.

02

Establish the coordinator link

Open Config → DATUM Pool and enter the host and port shown above. Copy the Pool Pubkey above into Pool Public Key.

Use the complete 128-character key as the Gateway’s pool_pubkey setting. Confirm it with the operator over a trusted channel.

03

Choose how miners connect and receive rewards

Use the options explained above to choose worker names, whether miners use the Gateway’s payout address or their own, and what happens if the pool becomes unavailable.

To use the Gateway’s payout address for every miner, set pool_pass_full_users to false. Enable pool_pass_workers if you want to distinguish individual miners.

04

Restart and check your shares

Save the Gateway configuration and restart the service. A valid link produces coinbase requests, followed by accepted shares when submitted work reaches target.

After the first accepted share, open My Stats and enter your payout address.

Connection diagnostics

Confirm that outbound TCP traffic to port 28916 is allowed and the host contains no https:// prefix. Use the Gateway for your selected chain; the two chains use different software.

A connection alone does not create a portal entry. Your address appears only after the coordinator accepts the first share submitted with that address.

Share accounting

Only independently verified shares count toward the challenge. A connected Gateway alone is not accepted work. Hashrate is estimated over the last 15 minutes from share difficulty, independently of the reward window.

Reward calculation

TIDES uses verified work across the configured reward window, retaining the fee attached to each share. Estimated mining payouts and Founder allocations are separate records with different accounting boundaries.

Complete reward calculation and fee reference →

Block maturity

Mining rewards are paid directly in a found block’s coinbase transaction. Coinbase outputs require network maturity before they can be spent. A payout estimate is not a confirmed balance.

Founder accounting

Allocations are earned through verified accepted work recorded against your payout address during each Astraeus block epoch, subject to the formal Founder terms.

Each Astraeus block closes an epoch. Its release is distributed in proportion to verified accepted work in that epoch. The configured miner reserve is 50%. The first release is 25.000%; each next epoch releases half of what remains.

Your estimated allocation changes as your contribution and the contributions of other miners change. The allocation becomes final when the corresponding Astraeus block is found.

When the Founder accounting service is unavailable, the portal shows the configured schedule and leaves personal positions blank. It does not use the rolling seven-day leaderboard or mining-payout percentages as Founder allocations.

Existing Founder fee benefits

The existing early-miner fee benefit is separate from the proposed Founder economics program. Current standard fee: —. Current Founder fee: —.

Checking fee-benefit eligibility…

Eligible addresses retain at least a 30% discount and a 1.4% fee cap for two years while the pool operates, under the existing service terms.

Public API

Every endpoint is scoped to the selected chain: /sha256/api/…. Responses carry the chain identity. Telemetry refreshes every 15 seconds; unavailable or stale observations are not shown as live.

GET /api/status

GET /api/stats

GET /api/challenge

GET /api/miners/{address}

GET /api/founders · optional

Troubleshooting

Check coordinator and node readiness on the Pool page. Confirm your Gateway matches this chain and that the full public key matches the operator’s key. DATUM requires outbound TCP port 28916.

If your address has no history, confirm accepted shares in your miner. A connection alone is not a contribution. With individual usernames enabled, use your payout address before the first period.

FAQ

Do I need an account?

No. Your payout address is your identity. The portal remembers a lookup only in your local browser, separately for each chain.

Is a Founder estimate final?

No. Your estimated allocation changes as your contribution and the contributions of other miners change. The allocation becomes final when the corresponding Astraeus block is found.

Can I claim or transfer Founder allocations?

Those mechanisms are planned and depend on finalized legal and operational terms. They are not currently available.

Does the block interval tell me when we will find a block?

No. It is a statistical expectation at constant difficulty and hashrate. Each attempt is independent.
